About Us

What We believe

As a church, we have embraced the framework of Worship, Belong, Serve as the mission that drives all we do. And we affirm seven Core Values, which guide who we strive to be and how we desire to function as the body of Christ in our specific context here in Happy Valley:

As a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled family, we are:

  • Unified in Worship (Hebrews 13:15)
  • Grounded in Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • Connected in Prayer (Philippians 4:6)
  • Growing in Community (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • Active in Service (1 Corinthians 12:7)
  • Intentional in Missions (Acts 1:8)
  • Advancing in Big Faith (Hebrews 11:6)

The Alliance

The State College Alliance Church exists under the authority and guidance of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, with the regional support and leadership of the CMA Eastern Pennsylvania District. Accordingly, we embrace the Fourfold Gospel as a beautiful summary of the heart of what Alliance people believe about Jesus, as defined by A.B. Simpson, who founded the CMA in the late 1800s. We also affirm the Statement of Faith, a rich doctrinal statement from the CMA National Office which declares what the Alliance believes about God, how He relates to us, and how we relate to Him.
